How we can work together.

Melody-hire a virtual chief of staff

Looking to hire a virtual chief of staff? As a seasoned executive support professional, I free up your mental space with holistic support that keeps your key relationships warm, your processes optimised, and your operational and personal logistics managed.

Here are three ways we can work together, depending on what you need:

Chief of staff
retainer.

Ongoing holistic support - business & personal.

Investment: £5,000 per month

Dedicated monthly virtual chief of staff capacity for strategic support across your business and personal life. This could include BAU (‘business as usual’) task prioritisation, systems coordination, and efficient handling of whatever needs doing that you don’t have time or headspace for.

Examples:

  • Business:
    • Project coordination and management
    • Relationship management with clients, partners, stakeholders
    • Operations and systems
    • Research, documentation, problem-solving

  • Personal:
    • Schedule prioritisation (as part of your ‘master’ calendar)
    • Contractor/vendor coordination (remotely)
    • Relationship management (gifts, important dates, maintaining connections)

Leaders who need a trusted right-hand person to handle whatever comes up, without the overhead of managing tasks or tracking time.

This is for those who need consistent, reliable support in the form of someone who becomes an extension of their team and gets to know their work inside-out.

Chief of staff
trial month.

A one-off reset month before you commit.

Investment: £3,500 for one month (one-time only)

One intensive month to get your operations back on track, set up systems, and assess whether an ongoing strategic partnership is right for you. We’ll focus this month on getting you organised, so you see real value quickly.

What we’ll accomplish:

  • Getting you organised:
    • Calendar reset (audit, eliminate chaos, optimise your time)
    • Relationship management overhaul (reconnect with key stakeholders, create a maintenance system)
    • Operations audit (identify what’s working, what needs fixing, recommendations)
    • One priority project (clearing something specific that’s been weighing on you)
  •

Leaders who want to test the relationship before committing, or who haven’t yet tested the process to hire a virtual chief of staff.

By the end of the month: you will be more organised, key relationships will be maintained, and you will have clarity on whether ongoing support makes sense for your situation.

What happens after: if it’s working well, we continue at £5,000 per month for ongoing strategic support. If it’s not the right fit, no hard feelings – you’ve reset your operations and have systems in place to maintain momentum going forward.

Note: This is a one-time offer to test the fit. I don’t offer multiple trial months at this rate.

Strategic operations
week.

Focused support for a specific project or week.

Investment: £2,500 per week

One week of focused support for a specific project or situation. By the end of the week, your project will be handled, your launch executed, the crisis managed, or your reset completed.

It includes a managed project dashboard (e.g., Asana, ClickUp, Trello, Notion, etc.) and documentation (SOPs, etc.)

Leaders with specific one-off projects who don’t need ongoing support, or who want to get a feel for working with me on a contained project.

Yes! You can book multiple intensive weeks as needed, and they don’t need to be consecutive. But intensive weeks must be booked at least 1 week in advance (not last-minute emergencies).

I typically limit my calendar to 1-2 intensive week clients per month to maintain quality.

All pricing is in GBP. International clients can pay via Stripe or PayPal, which automatically converts to your local currency at the current exchange rate.

Past workstreams.

Here are a few examples of strategic work I’ve completed for clients:

I work remotely with clients around the world, and across the private, public, and non-profit sectors.

Your return on investment.

I know that investing in strategic support is a big decision, especially when you’re looking to hire a virtual chief of staff at this level. My pricing reflects 10+ years of experience, expertise in regulated industries, and the holistic approach I bring to every client relationship.

When you compare the investment to hiring a full-time chief of staff (£75,000-£100,000+ per year, plus benefits and overhead), or the opportunity cost of managing everything yourself (£12,000+/month in lost productivity), the value becomes clear.

If you’re still wondering whether this investment makes sense for you, I’ve written this helpful post which takes you through how you can think about the service and process.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs).

I provide holistic support, so business operations plus the personal logistics that impact your ability to do your best work. For example:

  • Business: Coordinating a short-term project, nurturing stakeholder relationships, preparing for a board meeting.
  • Personal: Blocking time for your family activities (because it affects your work calendar), nurturing important personal relationships (because they’re professionally valuable too).

The line between ‘business’ and ‘personal’ often gets blurry for high-achievers – I handle both because they’re interconnected.

No. My retainer covers strategic support for whatever needs handling, whether business, personal, or both.

Some months you might need more business support (big project launch). Other months you might need more personal coordination (moving house, family logistics). It balances out.

The value is the same: I’m freeing up your mental space and reducing complexity so you can focus on what you’re actually good at.

For your accounting purposes, I can provide a monthly breakdown of business vs personal activities so your accountant can categorise expenses correctly.

If it’s working well, we continue at £5,000 per month for ongoing strategic support. If it’s not the right fit, you’ve already built a solid foundation to move forward independently.

Yes! Intensive weeks can be repeated and you can book them as needed. Some clients book one every quarter for planning weeks, or whenever they have an important launch or event (e.g. an AGM/EGM).

The difference between the intensive week and the retainer is that intensive weeks are project-specific and time-bound (5 days), whereas the retainer is ongoing holistic support.

If you find that you’re booking intensive weeks every month, that’s usually a sign you’d benefit from the retainer – it’s better value and you get more consistent support.
